how do infrared saunas work?
Infrared saunas use safe, deep-penetrating far-infrared (FIR) light. Far-infrared saunas recreate a narrow band of light naturally produced by the sun. High quality heating elements are located in infrared saunas, which include a combination of carbon and ceramic heaters. Although you can’t see the infrared light being emitted by these heating elements, you quickly begin to feel a warming sensation in your skin, muscles, and tissues throughout your body.
WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT THEN TRADITIONAL SAUNAS
Traditional saunas use convection to warm the air around the user (the same way an oven works), while the infrared that radiates from far-infrared saunas are more attracted to objects with a high moisture content, such as your skin, muscles, and underlying tissues. While this type of radiant heat may sound weird, it’s important to note that this is the same type of radiant heat that makes us feel warm when we step outside on a sunny day.
