Experience Sauna Skin Benefits by Using a Far Infrared Heat

Have you ever experienced acne, flakey dry skin, clogged pores, wrinkles, blackheads and/or zits? If you have (like most of us), did you know that you can use an infrared sauna for skin care to clear those items up? If you didn’t, it’s true! Let us tell you how…

When using a far infrared sauna, blood flow to the skin increases to as high as 50-70% of cardiac output (compared to the standard 5-10%), due to the blood vessels in the skin’s surface expanding to accommodate the increased blood flow. This process that happens while using a sauna for skin care is known as vasodilatation. With greater blood flow, more nutrients are transported throughout the body as well as to surface tissues, promoting cellular activity and growth.

Along with nourishing the skin, the high temperatures also cause the body to excrete sweat to cool the skin. Studies have shown sweat to be more effective than water at emulsifying fat located in the skin’s sebaceous glands, and thus at removing the sebum and bacteria lodged in the fat. Meaning, this enhances the development of collagen, giving the skin a continued elasticity while also eliminating the appearance of wrinkles. (even more benefits!)

Sweating (caused from the far infrared heat) also cleans out the pores, dislodging toxins and particles that when built-up, increase the outbreaks and aggravate zits and blackheads. Sweating paired with the use of perforated brush removes dried, dead skin that accumulates on the epidermis. All in all, far infrared sauna therapy will help to keep skin both healthy and beautiful for years to come!
